Projects

Since leaving Block, I've focused on speeding up my learning and building in the AI space.
Slowly updating my North Vietnam trip 2024 post with additional content, while experimenting with storytelling tools.
Working on articles for the "Hacker's Guide to Home Automation" collection. I've published Smartifying your devices, the next articles will focus on agents, automations and conventions.
Separating from Block means I now have a 64GB-ram Macbook M4 for additional LLM inference, so I'm getting started with mlx-lm and some more modern locally-hosted models. My plan is to use them with OpenCode, and later set up a simple Software Factory backed by Beads or Planka (think Gastown).

Fitness Boxing 3 (Nintendo Switch) continues to be effective for pick-up and put-down exercise.

Currently staying in Melbourne, Victoria. Visiting the city for coffee catchups, and collab work with ex-colleagues.
Pumpk and I set up my workspace as an "AI Lab", pooling together a few machines that can perform text and image inference as we experiment with various projects.
