Projects

• Slowly updating my North Vietnam trip 2024 post with additional content, while experimenting with storytelling tools.
• Working on a presentation, "The Hacker's Guide to Home Automation", for a future conference.
• Consistently tinkering with new automations, locally-hosted LLMs (Devstral Small 2507 is still my go-to), and agentic workflows.
• I'm researching different campervans and motorhomes for upcoming holiday trips. There are a wealth of options for two-person self-contained campers for travelling Australia and Aotearoa, so discovering and comparing them is an interesting activity.

Playing

• Fitness Boxing 3 (Nintendo Switch). I picked this up in Tasmania (2nd hand) last December, it's been a fun and well-bounded way of getting some exercise into my day. Sometimes I'll combine this with Ring Fit Adventure, which I'm still progressing on slowly.
• Beat Saber. With my (unlocked) Oculus Quest 2, it's been fun to download community-released song packs each month.

Places

• Currently staying in Melbourne, Victoria. Working in the office ~2 days per week.
• Pumpk and I recently got back from Tasmania, focusing on Cradle Mountain. Despite spending four nights there, we managed to spend 6~7 hours walking around the park each day. We'll be back again soon for sure.
