I'm hosting an offline-first home automation system at home, using Home Assistant as the hub on a Raspberry Pi. I have posted my Home Assistant config to Github for safe-keeping.

Integrations

Home Assistant has pretty strong support for automations that can respond to a variety of events, and respond with an even wider variety of actions. Here are some of my automations and integrations:

• Connected Kettle for remotely monitoring and controlling a regular kettle.
• SYMFONISK Kodi remote for using the SYMFONISK remote to control Kodi.
• Bedside lamp button to control a bedroom lamp remotely.
• Mailbox sensor made up of two contact sensors to monitor my mailbox.
• SKURUP lamps with automatic workspace illumination.
• Doorbell for sending alerts when someone is at the door.
• Door lock for identifying of the door has been left unlocked.
• Clothesline monitor module, hosted on an ESP8266 board.
• Octopi integration for remote monitoring and feedback.
• Kodi media centre control.
• VINDRIKTNING with ESPHome , for sampling and reporting on air quality.
